About Me

Salāmun ʿAlaykum!

Welcome to Kisa Therapy Clinic. Are you feeling lost or overwhelmed? You’re not alone. We all face challenges at some point in our lives. My name is Sajida, and I’m a licensed therapist passionate about helping people create fulfilling lives. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University (NJ) with a certificate in Promoting Child and Adolescent Well-Being.

My journey to becoming a therapist stemmed from my needing to find support. Taking that first step and seeing a therapist was a turning point for me. Its positive impact on my life fueled my desire to help others experience similar benefits. Additionally, I found social work skills closely aligned with Islamic values, which has been incredibly meaningful for me. The shared emphasis on empathy, self-awareness, and compassion resonates deeply with me. I’m very eager to approach mental health with an Islamic framework.

I was born and raised in New York. I live in NJ with my husband and three children (ages 21, 15, and 3). I love to spend time with my family, learn (especially about Islam and human psychology), travel, be outdoors, and bake!
