Children & Adolesecents.

An estimated 1.2 million children and youth in Canada are affected by mental illness and 70% of mental health problems have their onset during childhood or adolescence. Yet, less than 20% will receive appropriate treatment.

Our psychotherapists are trained to help children to unlock what lies underneath their difficulties and better understand themselves. Working to their pace and age, we tailor our approach to your child.

Using age-appropriate interventions, our process

  • Allows them to better understand their feelings and thoughts of worry, anger, confusion or sadness that are difficult to say out loud.
  • Makes a positive impact on relationships and behavior at home and in school
  • Allows them to have increased concentration, manage themselves and work through their emotions.

Individuals.

1 in 4 Canadians aged 18 and older screened positive for symptoms of depression, anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder and we recognise that these symptoms have intensified since the pandemic.

We provide a safe, empowering and non-judgmental space for you to openly explore your thoughts, feelings and concerns. Individual therapy puts you in the center of your healing and allows for tailored support.

  • Improves communication skills
  • Cultivates healthier relationships
  • Promotes the understanding of yourself and the choices you make
  • Empowers you to develop new insights about your life
  • Development of coping strategies to manage distress and new transitions

Families & Couples

Family therapy helps family members understand each other and work through difficult feelings in a safe space. We work with you, as a family unit, through the challenges you face and help you move forward in a way that best serves your relationships.

  • Evaluates behavioral patterns
  • Improves communication skills
  • Promotes collaboration
  • Cultivates healthy support systems
  • Resolves conflict between family members
  • Supports families as they work through their own goals

Groups

Group therapy involves a small group of people who all have similar issues they are looking to get support with such as a tough life circumstance or mental health condition.

  • Build a strong network with others in the group that can provide insight
  • Can feel less intimidating as there as others who are going through similar situations
  • Allows group members to experiment new techniques and behaviors in a safe and supportive environment without the fear of failure.
  • Can boost self esteem and confidence as it allows for members to share experiences
