About Me

Salāmun ʿAlaykum!

My name is Nuzhat Fatema Hassanali and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I have completed my Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I also have a postgraduate diploma in Addictions and Mental Health Counselling and a Bachelors degree in Psychology. I have extensive experience working with youth and their families particularly in high school settings.

My journey as a therapist began when I noticed a lack of mental health awareness in my communities in Tanzania and therefore, I strive to dispel the stigma and negative perceptions held within the culturally diverse communities. I use an integrative and relational approach to therapy and believe that each individual is unique and resilient and capable of attaining their highest potential.

I am a wife and a new mother to an energetic baby boy, and in my free time I enjoy being outdoors, travelling and spending time with family and close friends!
