4 Nourishing Ways to De-stress After a Long Day

Living in the stressful environment of today, we need to be mindful of taking time for ourselves to de-stress and relax.

Here are some ways in which we can unwind and relax after a long and tiring day.

1. Creating your personal space

Being in a quiet space which you can relax in can be rewarding. You can design and organize your space in a way that appeals to you by putting some potted plants or an aromatherapy oil diffuser, making it warm and inviting.

2. Reflecting

Taking the time to reflect and realize that we are not the only people who are experiencing stress and difficulty.

Hardships are meant to purify us and take us closer to Allah swt. It is also good to reflect and think of what we are grateful for, and what our body needs at the moment.

3. Prayers

Be it the daily prayers, or reciting the holy Qurʾān or Duʿās, where you are mindful in every sajdah, and each step that you take, realizing that you are trusting Allah (swt) to take care of you and the problems you are facing.

4. “Me” Time

This is the time taken out to relax, spending time with friends or family to feel energized and rejuvenated.

This could be time taken to exercise, walk in nature, or simply to read a book in a quiet corner. It is important to realize that your needs are important- that you are important.

Embracing Tranquility in Daily Rituals

In the hustle and bustle of today’s demanding world, it’s essential to carve out moments for self-care and relaxation. These simple practices can serve as a guide to unwind after a taxing day.

Establishing a personal sanctuary, pausing for reflection, engaging in prayers with mindfulness, and cherishing “me” time are some nourishing ways to cultivate a sense of peace and balance.

Remember, in taking care of yourself, you are honoring your own worth and well-being.
